Message of the Day:- 1 Timothy 6:6-10 - "6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Link - Cult Watch.
Re: Are Christians Hypocrites? Christians Give A Bad Name To Themselves
You are right, many of us Christians are selfish, self-centered and.. (you name it). There are at least 2 reasons for that:
1. We were like these even before we became Christians, we are sinners that is why we need Jesus to be our Saviour! But receiving Christ into our lives is only an event whereas becoming Christ-like is a process that will take a lifetime. That is why Christians are not spared from any hardship faced by everyone else (in fact sometimes Christians experience more), God is constantly trying to mold us into the likeness of His Son Jesus. But it's really a 3 steps forward then 2 steps backward process as we learn to walk with Him in our daily lives.
2. Some of us accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour once upon a time but we never make Him the Lord of lives. We compartmentalized our heart (life), left Jesus in the guest room and carry on our lives as usual. Some of us even invited Jesus Christ through the front door, showed Him the back door, and foolishly think that we will go heaven as long as we continue going to church on Sundays!
So these are some of our experiences as Christians. You will have your own experience when you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, but please don't forget to make him your Lord too.
Reminder to us Christians:
Revelation 3:15-16 : I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
James 2:17-18 : In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

But Monday to Saturday, Christians become selfish and self-centered and cunning and .... (too long to list, you readers figure it out)
Christians give a bad name to Christians themselves.
Don't blame us for our viewpoints, your own people gave us those viewpoints !
And don't blame us for not believing in your religion. Blame your own people for giving your religion a bad name.
Bah ! These kind of people going to heaven then ..... makes people think what on earth is God doing?????
Your singling out of Christians seems more a case of anti-Christian bigotry rather than an objective frowning upon a moral flaw. How many Christians have you personally known to make that blanket conclusion that Christians are a bunch of hypocrites? Can you honestly say that of all the hypocrites that you think you have met, they are only to be found among Christians? Truth is, hypocrites are everywhere in every religion. And if you care to be brutally self-honest, at times you act the hypocrite too. We are all guilty of that one time or another. That does not make it right, but that’s the reality. Christianity has no monopoly on hypocrisy. In fact, Jesus denounced hypocrisy in the strongest words possible. Christians should walk the talk besides talking the talk, and there are times when Christians do not keep up at that. But then again, the fact that some Christians are hypocrites (or even if you still think that ALL Christians are hypocrites and ALL hypocrites are Christians), that does not invalidate the Christian faith at all. The truth of Christianity does not lie in how its believers have lived out the Christian teachings. Some will be exemplary while others will not be good examples at all. You should examine and accept/reject Christianity based on its teachings and truth claims, and not reject it based in your personal selection of Christians you found distasteful to your liking.

think this is not a matter of whether he is a christian or not that he behaves like that - christian or not, there are people like that
but never mind, keep searching for that perfection, there is hope!
Re: Are Christians Hypocrites? Christians Give A Bad Name To Themselves
Christians are none the less sinners.
For the fact they try every sunday is good enough. But Churches mostly do not quite understand the Bible too well and they don't really become what they ought to be. If you personally ask me are they hypocrites, maybe I would say alot are.
But do forgive them for they don't understand but will still be shown the truth and love, where eventually they will change to be a better person.
Re: Are Christians Hypocrites? Christians Give A Bad Name To Themselves
hey, there are really some Christians like that...but there are Christians who truly sought to follow Christ...It's true to say that some Christians make a bad advertisement for Christ...
But pls be fair here...Some of them were still struggling...some of them maybe young, not so mature yet.....some of them are in progess.....sum of them are Christian, but not really that serious about it...I see these ppl...they give bad impressions to unbelievers....However, the truth about Christ still does not change...because of human weaknesses...His salvation plan and love to the world never changes...
If you really meet some good Christians, and see their lives transformed, maybe you will say different thing about Christianity...my point is, dun condemned all because of few...still, i dun blame you for this...just wanna clarify abit here...just think it's quite unfair for Christ to bear a wrong name because of our weaknesses....
