Message of the Day:- 1 Timothy 6:6-10 - "6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Link - Cult Watch.
Why Does God Needs Human To Convince Others He Is Real?
Sorry guys and girls, I don't get it.
If God is real, why does he need Christians going round chasing others to become Christians.
He can just zap here or zap there and everyone will believe him that he is real.
Why does the almighty God, the Creator, needs small human beings to hunt out people and convince them to become Christians and that God is real?
Christians or Pastors or whatever, try convince me and answer my questions and your answers got to be good and convincing otherwise nobody will believe.
I am sure there are many people out there like me not getting it and not convince at all !!
Re: Why Does God Needs Human To Convince Others He Is Real?
I came from a non-Christian background and was a free-thinker for many years. One day, I began to wonder if life is all about getting good grades and securing a great job after that before starting a family etc. I started doing my own research to find out if the God of the Christians is real. I find Christianity interesting because the birth of Christ defines the calendar year and his birthday is 'celebrated' worldwide, making it almost impossible for anyone to say he has never heard of Christ. What is more interesting is that I see God reaching out to me through Christ with the promise of eternal life. As far as I know, no other religion guarantees that and seems so personal. I felt I ought to check out if this is true or is it just a hoax.
I researched for more than a month and became intellectually convinced of a high possibility that Jesus Christ is who he claimed he was for the following reasons:-
(1) I realised that the Old Testament was already in existence before 1 AD but it contains so many predictions about Christ. Now we know that we cannot control how and where we are born, who our parents are going to be and how we are going to die but Jesus fulfilled all these predictions.
(2) Another thing I found out is that historians of those times who were not Christians also had records about Jesus and how the early church was started because of him whom his disciples claimed to be resurrected. The religious teachers at that time expected the disciples to disband after they got Jesus crucified, but the more they persecuted the Christians, the more the early church grew. All the disciples of Jesus except for Judas (who betrayed Jesus) and John (who was banished to the island of Patmos), together with many other early Christians were killed by being burnt alive like torches, fed to the lions as a spectator sport etc. Peter who was so afraid when Jesus was arrested, was crucified upside down and Paul who left everything he had to become a Christian was beheaded in Rome. I find it hard to believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was just a lie which they all paid with their lives.
(3) I kept reading (and still do today) testimonies after testimonies of people whose lives got turned around when they trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Drug addicts, ex-gangsters, broken marriages and many others whose lives are broken and on the road to destruction found healing and recovery as they slowly learn to follow Christ in their lives. These testimonies come from all over the world, and from Christians of all walks of life, from different culture and races. To me it shows that God is still very much active today among those who turn to him though he seems to hide himself from the rest of the world.
In short, I was really convinced intellectually but realised that I had no inclination to be a Christian. I was a self-made man who didn't feel that I need God, now I know God called that pride. And so I struggled for the next few weeks because intellectually I knew that I was denying the truth and at my heart level, I knew I was truly a sinner even though I might appear to be successful. I finally gave in and asked Jesus to be my Saviour and Lord on Christmas but nothing seem to happen after that. I didn't tell anybody about it at that time so that I can backout of my decision without 'losing face'. When nothing seem to happen over the next few days, I began to wonder if I had really made a mistake. But after going through what I had researched, I remained convinced and decided to persevere in prayer. I think God was testing my heart at that time because about 3 weeks later, I was suddenly and supernaturally filled with unspeakable joy after I prayed in the evening. I knew at that moment that I was born again and I had eternal life as promised in the Bible. The next day I cause the jaws of all my Christian friends to drop when I told them that I had became a Christian.
So my point is this: it is a misconception that "God Needs Human To Convince Others He Is Real". However it does not mean that I will not tell people about Jesus Christ and what He had done for them on the cross. The reason is because not many people are like me, most people will just drift through life without bothering to find out the true meaning of Christmas as they are more interested in the things of this world than with God's purpose for their lives.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. - Hebrew 11:6

powerful sharing!
as for the question, good question with no answer - there is no God to type you an answer here at least.. even if Jesus were here, He would probably not have the exact answer but to give you an answer or a question to leave you searching to find the Truth!
God may not needs to convince, but He wants to - He wants to be the one loving God that no one can imitate, He Himself will convince whoever by His ways..

Then you dont need FAITH at all. As a result, you won't be saved. The whole Bilbe is talking about how we are going to be saved by FAITH.
Re: Why Does God Needs Human To Convince Others He Is Real?
True, God can zap around. But He can't zap love into hearts.
As for Churches pastors and christians, they had a hard time convincing you for they are in err of the scriptures. Believe it or not, 2000 years have past and there are only more debates on the bible and more denominations formed.
You wouldn't know God if you don't know love.
Jesus came to tell you of God's love. And it is supposed for Christians to share the good news, hence called gospel. Yet not many have the purity of heart to see who God really is. So they have been running around in circles trying to convince you when they are at home trying to figure out who God is.
But since you asked, plainly I'd tell you, God is not trying to convince you. God is simply telling you He loves you.
