¹³ One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, ¹⁴ a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, ¹⁵ and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

¹⁶ While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

¹⁷ While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

Job 1:13-17 (NIV)

After getting authorisation from God to harm Job's belongings, Satan worked out a plan to destroy Job so that he will sin by cursing God for his sufferings & downfall. From Job 1:13-17, we know that one day Sabeans & Chaldeans raided Job's flocks & herds of sheeps, goats etc. Satan must have influenced the minds of Sabeans & Chaldeans to attack Job's flocks & herds otherwise why Sabeans & Chaldeans delayed raiding Job's flocks & herds till Satan gotten his permission from God to harm Jobs' belongings. Satan does not need in this instance to physically harm Job's flocks & herds. He simply influenced the minds of Sabeans & Chaldeans to be jealous or greedy and raid & take away Job's flocks & herds of sheeps, goats etc..

Thus from the bible in book of Job, we can see that the influencing of the mind is a powerful weapon among Satan many weapons of destruction. We have to be very careful of this powerful weapon of influencing of the mind. It is very destructive. The mind is one battlefield that we have to watch out for. Some thoughts may originated from ourselves while other thoughts may be quietly planted by Satan & his demons who influenced your mind to sin.

Satan & his demons are very very smart. They can make use of one's selfish nature to think for himself or herself to bring about sin. To bring about sin of adultery and break up in any marriage, all Satan & his demons need to do is to influence whoever the selfish person in that marriage to care about himself of herself and not to consider the feelings of the other partner and whisperings in the selfish person's weak mind to rationalize that it is alright to talk deeply to opposite sex outside the marriage not being considerate to one's partner in marriage or to go to bed with someone outside the marriage because the partner neglected him or her. Satan & his demons can also make use of feelings of the heart to cause the break up of marriage by influencing the mind of a lustful nature of man to shower emotional words of love to another married woman such that the married woman rejected the husband's many years of love & commit sin of adultery by accepting the lustful man's flowery, heart wrenching & beautiful words of love at the time when her husband is busy with work & did not shower enough attention to his wife or that the married woman is weak in will & mind and was easily persuaded by the lustful man through emotional manipulation thereby leading the woman to commit a grave sin.

Satan & his demons are very powerful and as some Christians did not guard against such selfish nature or emotional manipulation, some Christians commit sin secretly & do not repent and carry on sinning. Christians know the 10 commandments but yet they sinned badly. Why then do they sin if they knew the Lord God's 10 commandments? Why couldn't they guard their mind & spirit not to sin? Why did they go against God? It is partially because of their selfish nature and not of spirit with God. They did not change their selfish nature even after becoming Christians. They did not guard their thoughts or spirits as according to the scripture and allow themselves to be persuaded or influenced to sin of adultery.

It is easy to blame Satan for causing us to sin in adultery. We should not blame anyone but ourselves for sinning. We did not stand firm to God's 10 commandments & the scripture. Satan & his demons will not succeed in causing us to commit the sin of adultery if we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ of "love thy neighbour" which is your wife or husband and not acted anything against loving or harming your neighbour. We cannot blame Satan for causing us to sin as we are of weak mind and will and did not guard the mind and spirit against such temptations to sin or guard against selfish thoughts. We have ourselves to blame and should take responsibility & repent and ask God for forgiveness and not sin again.

Now that we know how Satan & his demons can bring about havoc and destruction in our life. We must therefore guard against whisperings, negative emotional thoughts, selfish thoughts, jealousy thoughts etc and adhere strictly to God's commandment and God's word so that no matter and however Satan & his demons try to influence our mind to bring about destruction, they will fail as we are on constant alert for such openings and influencing of minds to sins. Therefore stand firm my brothers & sisters in Christ, do not let Satan & his demons influence any of us in any way.
